Mandatory Funding for the NHSC Expires Dec. 31!

The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) is asking all advocates to please call their US Senators and House Representative TODAY, Dec. 10, and ask them to reauthorize the NHSC program at $950 million in mandatory funding over the next three years.

Congress is shifting focus to a Continuing Resolution (likely extending into March) instead of an Omnibus bill, leaving critical health policies up for debate. Recently, Republican lawmakers proposed zero funding for the NHSC. Without additional funding, the NHSC’s budget will drop to zero on January 1, 2025.

It’s crucial that you act now to ensure the NHSC isn’t overlooked during these discussions.  Contact your Senators and House Representative immediately and urge them to support reauthorizing the NHSC program at $950 million in mandatory funding over the next three years!

If you’re interested, here are additional Talking Points:

  • Thank you for your support in efforts to alleviate health workforce shortages in underserved areas.
  • I ask that you continue to build upon these efforts by supporting the Bipartisan Primary Care and Health Workforce Act, which reauthorizes the NHSC program with $950 million in mandatory funding per year for the next three years.
