Poster sessions are one of the highlights of ACU’s Conference. This year, over a dozen poster presenters from across the U.S. shared innovative research on topics from developing an equity-focused virtual leadership program for behavioral health medical leaders to lower-extremity skin care among unsheltered patients from a street medicine team and more.
Faculty and staff from the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved (JHCPU) and ACU judged posters based on presentation, information, and innovation. Reviewers selected one winner to meet with the JHCPU to discuss developing their poster into a manuscript to submit for review.
Our 2022 Conference poster winner is Dr. Lacey Whitmire, a primary care physician at Fair Haven Community Health Care. Dr. Whitmire’s poster, “A Novel Population Health Approach to Improving Autism Screening at a Community Health Center,” demonstrated how community health worker outreach and telemedicine visits improved autism screening rates among children in an urban CHC environment.
