Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved

The Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved (JHCPU) is ACU’s official journal. Founded in 1990, this quarterly, peer-reviewed academic journal focuses on contemporary health care issues of medically underserved communities and addresses diverse health care topics such as health care access, quality, costs, legislation, regulations, health promotion, and disease prevention as they impact underserved populations in North and Central America, the Caribbean, and sub-Saharan Africa. Regular features include research papers and reports, literature reviews, policy analyses, and evaluations of noteworthy health care programs, as well as a regular column written by ACU members.

All Individual or Organizational Members receive a full online subscription to the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved. JHCPU is published quarterly by Johns Hopkins University Press and edited by Meharry Medical College.
