Browse ACU’s New Resources and Get Ready for Next Week’s Call to Action

The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) faces a critical funding deadline at the end of March. Without congressional action to protect funding for this crucial program, vital healthcare services in underserved communities could be severely impacted. NHSC funding is entirely reliant on government support, making immediate advocacy essential.

Next week, ACU will issue a call to action to advocates to reach out to their representatives about the urgent need to secure NHSC funding: we must act swiftly to raise awareness and support to ensure continued access to care for rural and medically underserved populations.

ACU strongly encourages advocates to urge their members of Congress to support NHSC funding. Two ongoing and upcoming congressional recesses—February 17-21 (House) and March 17-21 (House and Senate)—are key opportunities to invite legislators to visit NHSC sites and meet with NHSC scholars to see their impact firsthand. Your engagement during these critical weeks can help prevent a funding lapse and demonstrate the importance of the Corps in improving health outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.
