Food Allergy Advisory Council Opportunity
ACU is excited to partner with Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE) on a three-year initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention to improve clinical practices for patients who have food allergies. ACU is seeking a primary care clinician within our network to represent ACU on FARE’s Food Allergy AWARE Advisory Council (FAAAC). This is a one-year commitment that requires 20-25 hours of engagement and will provide a one-time stipend of $3,750.
The FAAAC provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with other thought leaders working together to:
- Create a robust data-driven indicator report on the “State of Food Allergy in the U.S.” and distribute this broadly to public health professionals.
- Identify gaps in public health surveillance data and create a roadmap to address gaps, including questions.
- Build and launch a nationwide, multi-channel awareness campaign to address and correct myths and misconceptions about food allergy as a serious and potentially life-threatening disease (Disease not a Diet).
- Arm primary care clinicians & public health professionals with best practice information and tools to help them more effectively support food allergy patients through accurate diagnosis, quick referrals to specialists, good management/treatment practices, and prevention through early allergen introduction.
Learn about eligibility requirements and inquire by April 1, 2025. ACU will respond to all inquiries by April 8, 2025. For questions, please reach out to Sabrina Edgington, Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives.
