The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) is excited to enter an innovative strategic recruiting partnership with The Inline Group (Inline) to advance workforce excellence at community health centers (CHCs) and our broader community. The partnership will allow ACU and Inline to aid health centers with the thought leadership, evidence-based best practices, and premier technology solutions needed to source the skilled staff necessary to improve health equity for medically underserved communities.

“The workforce is the beating heart of the health center movement. But as a collective network of health centers and others caring for the underserved, we’ve never faced more significant challenges in sustaining, much less growing that workforce,” said Amanda Pears Kelly, ACU Executive Director. “To help CHCs continue to innovate to surmount those challenges, we’re pleased to partner with The Inline Group, which has unparalleled experience in provider recruitment, is truly committed to the health center mission, and has a record of helping CHCs and other safety-net healthcare institutions to achieve workforce success that speaks for itself.”

The exclusive, multi-year partnership will combine Inline’s two decades of experience in advancing health center staffing with ACU’s nearly 30 years of national leadership and trainings in CHC workforce retention and recruitment. The resulting collaboration will connect ACU’s member community and broader network with unique workforce innovations, as well as exclusive training, technical assistance, and tailored resources specifically with health center mission and operations in mind.

“I am personally excited to begin this partnership with ACU as it is the natural evolution of our purpose at Inline. In a crowded market, delivering affordable recruiting resources to the Community Health Care network has been our mission for almost two decades,” said Kelli Mulloy, Co-Owner and President of The Inline Group. “By providing greater accessibility to recruitment, we’re able to increase healthcare provider access nationwide. We are passionate about our work, and look forward to sharing our expertise as we proudly partner with ACU to further improve access to care throughout their network.”

ACU will introduce its community to best practices and technology solutions from Inline through national webinars, presentations at ACU’s 2024 Workforce Symposium, Inclusive Innovation: Putting People First, in Nashville, TN, on April 29-30 and 2024 Annual Conference, Envisioning a More Equitable Future: Advancing Stakeholder-Centered Innovation, on August 4-7 in Washington, D.C, as well as other collaborative engagement opportunities, resources, and more.

Complementing ACU’s ongoing technical assistance and trainings in CHC workforce retention and recruitment through its STAR² Center, ongoing work to drive the BPHC Well-Being Technical Assistance Initiative, and other efforts, the partnership will kick off soon with an introductory webinar on best practices in health center workforce recruitment.

“This alliance is a natural evolution of our shared mission to strengthen and support the health center workforce, not only to grow our community’s base of mission-driven, qualified staff but also to provide our incredible network of individual clinicians and healthcare workforce with opportunities to connect with CHCs across the country,” Pears Kelly added.

Featuring a proprietary database of more than 1.5 million records, Inline is the only “sourcing” company in the physician and medical search world, and its health center partners—like ACU’s network—are spread across the United States. In 2023 alone, 119,000 new providers joined Inline’s platform, and the company has partnered with a variety of ACU members such as Urban Health Plan, Camarena Health, and many others.
