Webinar: Supporting Community Health Workers in a Changing Environment

Community health workers (CHWs) play a vital role in connecting health care providers with the communities they serve. As trusted community members, they help improve outcomes, reduce disparities, lower costs, and guide patients through an increasingly complex health care system. While state, federal, and local partners are recognizing their value more than ever, CHWs continue to face barriers related to funding, certification, and education. These challenges are becoming even more pressing as recent policy changes reshape Medicaid and the Health Insurance Marketplaces.
In partnership with Pfizer, the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) convened focus groups with CHWs, health center leaders, administrators, and Primary Care Associations nationwide to identify strategies to better support and grow the CHW workforce.
This webinar explored key themes that emerged, including recruitment and retention, professional development, and the future of the CHW profession. Continue the conversation with peers across the country as we work together to elevate CHWs and strengthen their impact in a changing health care landscape.
