Kathie Westpheling, MPH, is currently Adjunct Faculty at George Mason University and manages clinical informatics internships in the Health Administration and Policy Department. She worked as Manager of Internships and Student Experiences for the Institute for e-Health Policy of the HIMSS Foundation from 2008-2019. From 1996 to her retirement in 2013, Ms. Westpheling worked for the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU), a national organization of health professionals, health advocates and students united in a common mission to improve the health of underserved communities and to develop and support those clinicians who serve them. She served as the Executive Director from 2002 to 2013. Prior to joining the ACU, Ms Westpheling directed the NHSC Health Promotion Disease Prevention (HPDP) Project at the AMSA Foundation, 1985-1996. Ms. Westpheling received her Masters of Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley and her Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition from Simmons University, Boston MA.
