Webinar: Office Hours: CHC Suicide Prevention
Webinar: Office Hours: CHC Suicide Prevention
September 25 | 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Hosted by the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved with our primary care association partners, this special office hours will offer practical guidance and Q&A on Suicide Safer Care for health centers. Suicide is a devastating public health crisis. Suicide rates in the U.S. increased by 35% from 1999 to 2018, and after a brief two-year decline, these rates increased once more in 2021. As nearly half of individuals who end their lives by suicide visit a primary care provider in the month before their passing, however, providers and organizations in primary care settings can play vital roles in recognizing and intervening with patients at risk.
How can you or your organization incorporate Suicide Safer Care to help prevent suicide in patients and healthcare professionals alike? This dedicated Q&A session will allow you to ask for guidance on topics such as:
- Understanding the scope of the crisis, specific risk factors, clinical pathways, and identification and management of patients at risk for suicide
- How to better incorporate suicide prevention in primary care, including financial and workforce sustainability
- Supporting healthcare professionals who themselves may be at risk of suicide
And more
