Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma, National Heart Lung & Blood Institute, 2007: Gives guidelines for the diagnosis and management of asthma from the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program. There is also a link to an Asthma Care Quick Reference: Diagnosing and Managing guide and to the Guidelines Implementation Panel Report that presents clear strategies for overcoming barriers to implementing asthma practice guidelines.

Environmental Management of Pediatric Asthma: Guidelines for Health Care Providers, The National Environmental Education Foundation: These guidelines (in English and Spanish) for health care providers are aimed at integrating environmental management of asthma into pediatric health care.

CDC National Health Interview Survey (NHIS): Lifetime and Current Asthma?United States, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): This resource gives a brief summary and tables on lifetime and current asthma statistics for children and adults in the United States.

CDC Asthma Data and Surveillance, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): This resource provides tables, graphs, reports, and publications on asthma data at both the national and the state level.

Asthma Control: Home-Based Multi-Trigger, Multicomponent Environmental Interventions, Community Preventive Services Task Force, 2008:  Discusses the effectiveness of home-based interventions with an environmental focus for persons with asthma on reducing exposure to multiple indoor asthma triggers (allergens and irritants).

Clearing the Air: Asthma and Indoor Air Exposures, Committee on the Assessment of Asthma and Indoor Air, Division of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and Institute of Medicine, 2000: This book examines how indoor pollutants contribute to asthma– its causation, prevalence, triggering, and severity. It identifies priorities for public health policy, public education outreach, preventive intervention, and further research.

National Healthy Housing Standard. The National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH) and the American Public Health Association (APHA) developed this health-focused property maintenance policy to provide recommendations to improve healthy and safe housing conditions in communities across the United States.
