The National Health Service Corps (NHSC), Community Health Centers, and Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education program face a major funding cliff on Sept. 30. With the August recess coming to a close, ACU sent a letter last week to Congressional leadership urging them to protect and expand funding for these vital programs, specifically asking Congress to increase NHSC funding to $950 million to help meaningfully address the severity of the ongoing healthcare workforce shortage in the U.S. As a Continuing Resolution begins to look likely, ACU is tirelessly advocating on Capitol Hill and uplifting the voices of our members to support the Corps.
