The ACU 2021 Conference Will Now Be Fully Virtual

From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our community has grappled with the need to balance patient care, safety concerns, and continuing education. The Delta variant has only made this balancing act more difficult. It is with that concern—and the safety of both you and your patients—in mind that the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved has made the hard but necessary decision to host our 2021 Conference, “Mission: Health Equity,” in a purely virtual format on November 1-2.

While we are saddened that we will not have the chance to see you in-person in Washington, D.C., as originally planned, your safety remains our paramount concern. We are also nevertheless excited to move ahead with our conference virtually and to connect attendees and participants with an outstanding program full of rich content. The purely virtual format will allow us to unite online safely even as we continue to provide care and advocate for underserved populations within our health centers, primary care associations, and communities.

ACU is also pleased that our compelling, CME-accredited sessions will remain unchanged, and that you will still be able to enjoy more than 20 exciting workshops on best practices in care for marginalized and underserved populations in addition to exciting keynote addresses. You will also be able to enjoy robust virtual networking and interaction with clinicians, administrators, and advocates from across the U.S. via our Attendee Hub platform.

If you have registered for in-person attendance, please check your email for a communication from us providing more information on how your registration will be credited and reconciled going forward. Unless you choose otherwise, your registration can easily be converted to virtual attendance, and we will refund the difference in cost between in-person and virtual registration. Furthermore, you will still enjoy full access to sessions. And if travel restrictions or safety concerns may have previously precluded your attendance, we invite you to join us! Register by October 8th to enjoy Early Bird rates, stay tuned for more information, and please contact us with any questions.

In the meantime, until we can meet online in November, we remain grateful to each of you for the life-changing—and life-saving—work that you do every day on the frontlines of the pandemic. ACU is honored to serve and support you in our shared mission and work to improve care for underserved patients nationwide—regardless of format, that commitment will be reflected in our Conference and in all that we do. Thank you again, and we’ll hope to “see” you at #ACUConf.

Sincerely,
Amanda Pears Kelly
