Ellis Frazier, MD

Ellis Frazier, MD, is a staff physician with Pike Medical & Surgical Associates, Pike County Hospital in Piketon, Ohio. He has a special interest in providing care to patients with HIV and other chronic diseases.

Dr. Frazier earned his Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Kentucky and his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He was a resident physician in training at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Following his residency, Dr. Frazier worked as a staff physician at the Charles Drew Health Center in Omaha, Neb., and with Village Family Physicians in Columbus. Dr. Frazier practiced with Family Healthcare, Inc., the community health center in Chillicothe, from 1990 – 1997, serving as medical director for six years. He also served as medical director of Ross County General Health District from 1992 – 2004 and staff physician with Ross County Primary Care Center. He returned to Family Healthcare from 2004-2009 and also provides primary care and HIV care to patients in Portsmouth, Ohio, in the Portsmouth City Health Department Primary Care Center.

Dr. Frazier is a member of the Board of the Ross County AIDS Task Force and the medical director of the Portsmouth City Health Department Primary Care Center. He is also a member of the volunteer faculty of the Ohio State University College of Medicine.

He was elected President of ACU in 2002 and continues to serve as a member of the ACU board of directors.
