Join Us for a Pre-Conference Workshop on Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Racism has profound impacts on the physical and mental health of communities of color, and care providers may hesitate to discuss racism with patients during clinic visits. Additionally, patients may find the topic jarring if not incorporated into conversation delicately. The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) is excited to offer a dedicated Pre-Conference training on “Talking with Patients About the Impact of Racism on Health” at our 2023 Conference this summer in Washington, D.C.
Make plans to join us on July 23 to explore the relationship between racism and health, when and how to discuss it with patients, and steps to take when patients need support. While racism will be centered in this session, other forms of discrimination will also be discussed. This engaging workshop will include didactic training, group discussion, case studies, and role play to improve your capacity to address racism and other forms of discrimination using a trauma-informed and compassionate approach.
