The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved is honored to welcome James (Jim) Macrae, MA, MPP, Associate Administrator of the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration, as a keynote speaker at our 2023 Conference, “Transformation: Elevating Care, Clinicians, & Communities,” in Washington, D.C., on July 23-26. Macrae is a nationally recognized public health leader and administrator, and he will headline our symposium spotlighting the need to ensure high-quality, accessible, and inclusive care for all, to support and elevate our healthcare workforce, and to advance health equity in historically marginalized populations.
As head of BPHC, Macrae manages a $5.6 billion budget supporting nearly 1,400 health centers which operate approximately 13,000 service delivery sites in every U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Pacific Basin. Serving nearly 30 million people nationwide, these centers provide comprehensive and patient-centric care, coordinating a wide range of medical, dental, mental health, substance use disorder, vision, and patient support services. From 2015-2017, he also served as Acting Administrator for HRSA, overseeing more than 90 programs providing health services to millions of individuals in medically underserved communities.
Macrae’s presentation will be but one highlight in our CME-accredited ACU Conference offering crucial trainings for clinicians, administrators, and advocates alike in Washington, D.C.
