Partners and Coalitions

ACU works with a number of partnerships and organizations to strengthen its mission of improving the health of America’s underserved populations in addition to enhancing the development and support of the health care clinicians serving these unique populations.

Partnership for Medicaid consists of 18 national organizations dedicated to the following goals:  to ensure budget reconciliation does the least amount of harm possible to the Medicaid program and to work with the Medicaid Commission and members of Congress towards long-term reforms to make Medicaid better for the low-income, vulnerable populations it serves. In bi-monthly meetings, the Partnership discusses ideas for reform proposals, shares “intelligence” about the work Congress is doing, and ensures that our various member constituencies are represented.

Language Access Coalition Participants in this effort include health care provider organizations, advocates, language companies, interpreters and interpreter organizations, and accrediting organizations working to improve policies and funding for access to health care for individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP).

Working Group on Health Disparities and Health Reform In 2009, a Working Group coalesced to ensure that health reform legislation must address health inequities and ensure that health and health care disparities reduction and elimination is prioritized. This Working Group brings together members from the coalitions, groups, and organizations involved in issues related to health equity and produces principles, position papers, and issue briefs.

Health Care for America NOW! is a national grassroots campaign representing 30 million people committed to securing quality, affordable health care.

Trust for America’s Health is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to saving lives by protecting the health of every community and working to make disease prevention a national priority.

National Health Equity Coalition is a policy and advocacy network committed to the elimination of racial and ethnic health disparities and the achievement of health equity.
