We at ACU are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Dr. David Hartzband. Dr. Hartzband served as the director of technology research for the RCHN Community Health Foundation, a close partner of ACU, and we extend our deepest sympathies to the Foundation and his family. We appreciate the gracious notice of his life and impact sent out by the Foundation, and we will miss hearing his immensely thoughtful contributions to our organization. Dr. Hartzband attended every ACU annual conference since we started holding the event in 2013, and formally presented at several. But as noted by many others, he was way more than a valuable presenter. He was a friend and colleague that not only understood the “what” and “why” of our efforts, he clearly understood how we all needed to work together to make it a reality. His good nature and positive outlook only enhanced his obvious brilliance. Anyone who had the pleasure to meet him quickly understood how very intelligent he was, but also how much he cared about the ultimate outcome of the work.
We are honored to have had the pleasure of knowing David and his memory is indeed a blessing to us all.
