Washington DC – The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) offered its support for S. 1980 – the Medicaid and CHIP Continuous Quality Act of 2014, introduced by Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia. The bill would enact a 12-month continuous enrollment period for Medicaid and CHIP, ensuring uninterrupted health care coverage for those who need it most. ACU recognized that S. 1980 would help reduce administrative expenses caused by the cycle of enrollment and disenrollment, or “churning,” in the Medicaid program.
