Vision Van ProgramMcLean, VA – The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) and Envolve, an integrated healthcare solutions company, are partnering with Neighborhood Health in Nashville, Tenn., to bring a Free Mobile Vision Van to the community June 9 – June 11. ACU and Envolve are working together throughout 2016 to bring the “SeeMore” Vision Van to underserved communities across the country. The Vision Van is operated by Envolve, a nationally respected provider of fully integrated, risk-based eye care programs with more than 30 years of experience providing comprehensive and affordable eye care services. Envolve serves more than six million members across the country each year through its panel of more than 20,000 eye care providers.

The “See More” Vision Van promotes the importance of regular eye care and brings eye care services to underserved communities nationwide. “We are so pleased that we can offer this service to children and adults in our community without cost to them,” said Mary Bufwack, CEO of Neighborhood Health. “Vision care often goes neglected.  It’s estimated that one in every four children has a vision disorder and even more adults; but 80% do not get an annual eye exam.”

Providers accompanying the Vision Van will conduct vision screenings and provide prescription eyewear for free to all members of the community.

“We are very proud to work with both Envolve and Neighborhood Health to increase access to vision care for the Nashville community,” said Craig Kennedy, Executive Director of ACU.  “Neighborhood Health provides affordable, high-quality primary and preventive health care to tens of thousands of Tennessee residents each year, and proper vision care is a very important component to that care. We are very excited to see the Envolve Vision Van provide this service where it is needed most.”

The “SeeMore” Vision Van will make three stops at the following Neighborhood Health locations:

  • Thursday, June 9 – Neighborhood Health at the Mission, 639 Lafayette Street, Nashville, TN, from 9 a.m. to 1p.m.
  • Friday, June 10 – Neighborhood Health at Inglewood, 3904 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN, from 3 p.m.to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 11 – Neighborhood Health at Madison, 601 Due West Ave, Madison, TN, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
